Because the AI makes it incredibly easy to get a prototype running or a quick fix implemented, the base study of DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) principles is often abandoned. Why refactor when the AI can just make a slightly modified version of the same logic?

This leads to what I call "Spaghetti Growth," where code is layered like sediment, burying the new, potentially sound, architecture under hundreds of additional, often duplicated, blocks of AI-generated logic. This isn't just inefficient; it's a direct assault on the maintainability and scalability of the system. As Diana Kelley, CISO of Noma Security, aptly puts it: "AI technical debt is the silent cybersecurity crisis... it forms quickly and often goes unnoticed until it fuels a major breach."
